If basic is not in your daily life, then do not make it part of your wedding. Take the chic advice from Awkward actress, Jillian Rose Reed and Marty Shannon’s with their far-from-basic rocker wedding at the Rimrock Ranch!
The ceremony, nestled within the iconic Joshua Trees, was adorned with metallic farmhouse chairs and fun + fluffy boho pampas grass. We particularly love the mixed matched rugs framing the aisle to the wooden ceremony arch. With the weather on the chillier side, this couple did not let that stop them by having white umbrellas and woven blankets for their guests to use.
The reception was decorated with long wooden tables and the same metallic farmhouse chairs from the ceremony. Making a cohesive vibe from i-do to party-time. The tables were embellished with bohemian and autumn-colored florals and fun flatware + drinkware making it a truly unique party experience under the twinkle of café lights overhead. The autumn colors were brought into the sweets of the reception with a cool orange + white cake and succulent looking cupcakes. But one of our favorite parts of this wedding? The black + white retro-style dancefloor! On the desert floor of the venue this dancefloor looks chic and eclectic, and a showstopper!
The couple wore some amazing fashion for their desert wedding, and we were there for it from the beginning. The couple came into one of our store locations and met up with our own Friar Tux icon, Eric Acuña, to pick out the amazing menswear for their big day. For his first look, Marty wore our Ivory Shawl Lapel Tuxedo paired with a fun bolo tie (#yoloforthebolo we’re big fans) and leopard velvet slip on loafers. We especially love that the bride’s father wore the black version of this tuxedo, allowing the father to compliment the groom and the design of the wedding and also allowing him to also have a great fashion moment of his own. For his party reception look the groom changed out of the Ivory Paisley Tuxedo and into a Gold Velvet Shawl Lapel Tuxedo. He spiced up the look by adding a pair of black pants and black shirt to his night-time look, perfect for partying it up on the dancefloor.
The bride’s first look was a romantic ivory laced ballgown with a fun crystal boot. She added some desert-bohemian flare to her look by having her hair up in a loose top knot and fun headpiece. For her second look she wore a black-and-white patterned gown with a green velvet tuxedo jacket. Together the couple brought moody and dark drama to their nighttime looks, while still complimenting their ceremonial looks.
Don’t you just love this couple’s unique and fun wedding? You can also see this wedding in People’s Magazine.
