When in Surf City USA (a.k.a Huntington Beach, CA) you cannot help but get swept up in wanting an oceanic inspired wedding! Now, if you are wanting a more nautical theme, this shoot might not be what you are looking for. No problem, we have blogs on that as well. Yet if you are wanting something a little bit more of an abstract and modern take on the theme look no further. In this photoshoot, there are calming hues of greys and light blues that balance the color pallet of the space. Not only will this give you a great base to play around with accent colors, but it will also make your wedding photos withstand the test of time. We love the bright fuchsias and golds that pop with this color scheme. Now as much as we love florals, we do not have much of a green-thumb here at Friar Tux, but we do have a fashion-thumb (if that's a thing). When picking colors for your groom/groomsmen, take the same idea that you put into picking a color pallet and apply it to menswear. For this shoot we went with a monochrome look with a light grey suit and a charcoal grey long tie. Now do not mistake monochrome for boring, that is definitely not the case. Just like how a great neutral base allows you to play with accent colors in decor, it is the same for clothing. By keeping the base suit and tie neutral you can play with the boutonnière color and other accessories: like socks or a fun watch.
