Come gather around the fire and let us tell you a little story about a couple planning their wedding…
The couple could not come to a decision about what kind of wedding they wanted to have. One wanted a vintage elegant affair, while the other wanted bold colors and whimsy. For days they debated, going back and forth. Hearing their cries for help, Southern House Events + Design gathered all us vendors up and we decided to come to this couple’s aid. “Blend the two” someone said, and that was it. We are excited to bring you this fun and elegant wedding inspiration.
Overall, the wedding is full of light neutral tones with pops of fuchsia. The fun giant paper flowers make you feel as if in a romantic dream, while the historic architecture of San Diego creates the perfect backdrop. The bride wore a stunning gown with lace detailing and an illusion bodice. Her bouquet was full of bright colors wrapped in an elegant dusty blue ribbon. Keeping with the elegant/whimsy theme we wanted the groom to play up his look with color and pattern. We decided to go with a traditional tuxedo style, yet in our rich navy color. This creates a modern take on a traditional style, again adding to our vintage whimsical theme. For some added fun, we paired the look with a polka dot black and white bow tie and a pop of color in the boutonniere.
Moral of the story: never cut yourself off of having multiple themes in your wedding. Sometimes the best styles come from blending multiple ideas.
