When it comes to planning their wedding, couples often look for ways to incorporate their cultures in small and big ways. This stunning Spanish Chinese Colorful Fusion Wedding was created by the ever-talented Sarah Wang, who specializes in Chinese American weddings.
The venue, La Venta Inn, is the perfect space for this fusion wedding with its chic Spanish architecture and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. The ceremony space was decorated with bright bold florals in the framing-style arch. Classic and simple wooden chairs added to the organic whimsy of the moment, allowing the flowers and the views to be the superstars of the moment. The use of the pinks and reds in the venue space and color palette were not only gorgeous but also for a cultural purpose – in Chinese culture pink and red bring about luck, happiness, good fortune, and joy. And who wouldn’t want that at their wedding?!
The reception tables were covered in white linens, with the same bold red and pink florals from the ceremony. We love the addition of light blue details to create a truly unique experience and color scheme to the day. You can see the light blue color in the cake, napkins, and fun fan seating chart.
The couple wore different looks on their special day, one modern wedding look and a bold tea ceremony look. For the ceremony, the bride wore a whimsical ivory gown with a plunging neck and back detail. For the reception she wore a formfitting gown with a square neckline and full sleeves. We love the floral fan accessory she added for some chic drama. Her tea ceremony gown was a deep red look with a traditional collar neckline with sheer paneling and lace.
For the ceremony and reception, the groom wore an Asphalt Grey Notch Lapel Suit by Michael Kors. He paired his look with a fun diamond shaped black bow tie and a blue floral pocket square, to perfectly bring in the colors of the wedding. For his tea ceremony look he put on a Burgundy Shawl Lapel Tuxedo and paired it with black pants and accessories for a black tie fashion statement.
