The Princess Project

The Princess Project is a wonderful charity that we work with in the San Diego area. "The Princess Project promotes self-confidence and individual beauty by providing free prom dresses and accessories to high school teens who cannot otherwise afford them. Our effort is made possible through invaluable volunteer, donor, and community support."
Prom is one of the big events that marks the end of your chapter in high school. It's one of the last events with all your classmates together that you don't want to miss! However, it does get very costly especially with the tickets and attire. Jennifer Gaston, the chair of the San Diego chapter said, "It means a lot to the girls who receive the items...If girls receive a free dress, they get a confidence boost and dont have to skip an important coming-of-age ritual."
Throughout January and February, The Princess Project is accepting prom and evening dress donations. See how you can donate by visiting their website for a list of locations and guidelines.
All of the San Diego Friar Tux Shop Stores are drop off locations for prom dresses. We also provide all local high schools with Free Tuxedo certificates to give out to deserving young men. You can find more information about our School Programs on our High School page.
