Lace & Burgundy Wedding at Ruby Street

Venue: Ruby Street Planning, Design + Videography: Expressionary Events Photography: Christine Bentley Photography Menswear Style: Burgundy Tuxedo with a black bow tie
The inspiration for this shoot came from using the unique blend of vintage and modern elements that surrounds a newly renovated venue that was originally built as a church in 1895 during Americas Arts and Craft movement in Los Angeles. The Ruby Street event venue has recently undergone a complete restoration but kept its gorgeous original stained windows along with rustic wooden floors. We combined modern elements such as bright and bold colored furniture to create a more direct and up to date feeling while producing a look that was soft and romantic in the reception and ceremony areas.
Our palette revolved around champagne, ivory, blush, and burgundy. The wardrobe was carefully selected to complement the details with lace and romantic colors. The bride wore a Berta dress with lace and pearls that drapped the sheer back. The groom wore a burgundy tuxedo with a black lapel designed by Ike Behar. For the ceremony, the floral design was simple but elegant with soft ivory draping, modern styled lanterns, and lush greenery to give it a gardenesque feel. Raw and modern elements were brought in to complete the contemporary old world feel.
A lush centerpiece of hydrangeas, garden roses, and proteas lined the center of the reception table and was surrounded by candlelight and lace linen. Gold chargers held white china and a elegant menu detailing the evenings decadent course.
