My dad is gay. A little girl's father is one of the few people in her life that will love her unconditionally, no matter what, through anything, period. And why should that be any different in return? My father came out to me just two short years ago, and it has been an amazing journey getting to know the man he loves today, the life they live together, and love that they share for one another. It is exciting to say that my dad, along with thousands of other gay couples are now able to join in the union of marriage. My father was the inspiration behind this shoot, and it was an honor for him and his partner to be our models.

Working as a wedding coordinator for Wiens Family Cellars, it especially breaks my heart to learn that many venues and vendors are turning away same sex couples. It was because of my father, coupled with the true desire to gain exposure to same sex weddings, I knew I had to make my vision become a reality. I contacted Michelle Garibay Events and was put in contact with her Senior Consultant, Cara Goset, and we immediately began collaborating details and compiling our team of same sex friendly vendors.

This vintage-industrial themed shoot focuses on incorporating a modern touch to a naturally rustic environment that makes up a winery. Sweet Pea Floral Creations brought in romantic white florals in an array of different metals, creating a soft touch to a masculine industrial theme. A wine barrel bar, whitewashed tables, and benches were provided by Rustic Events partnering with items from Signature Party Rentals. The groom’s attire was graciously provided by Friar Tux Shop while Dominica Beauty came in to polish the look with hair and airbrush makeup. Paper Villa Stationary and Design provided us with the unique menu cards and invitations, and the love was captured by Kevin Nguyen with Photoquest Studio Photography.
